(this image will update with the weather change, thus making this post kind of silly on some clear days)
Ahhhh... Sweet rain. Cool Temperatures .... oh, nothing says home in Oregon like a nice cool shower. Of course starting oh say, October 1st around midnight the rains will start for real and probably won't stop until early to Mid January where they have the option of continuing as is, or freezing solid before and after it hits the ground. Snow really isn't much of an option ... although it does snow here, only down in the valley it's an Anomaly.
But today, heading toward the end third of summer ... It's like an early birthday gift to a rusty Oregonian like me. The air smells cleaner, the plants seem greener and I think I can almost hear them sigh. The sky is overcast, no squinting in the summer sun today.
Last night as my daughter pointed out it was starting to shower a bit, I ran out on the patio and stuck my face into the sprinkling sky. It was a rebirth in a way. A new baptism. Wonderful.
