I watched the first debate Mr. Bush and President Kerry … er, oops … I mean Pres. Bush and Senator Kerry.
I watched it on PBS and the didn’t do that split screen thing that everyone else did, so I didn’t get to see much of the reaction from the candidates as the other one was speaking. I did notice the president seemed a little ‘put-out’ by the whole thing. Almost on the threshold of angry. I don’t know why. Seems like it’s all the things he’s heard before. I think perhaps it’s because he was alone on the stage, with someone challenging him on what he’s saying and without the huge love-fest that candidates surround themselves when they are out on the road.
Kerry does it too. Only Senator Kerry seemed like he had his act, his notes, his facts and his emotions together. I think if he keeps on this path he’ll be very promising by the end of the month. Unless of course Iraq breaks out in instant peace, the President may want to do some more work. I don’t want to hear the same slogans and catch-words preached at me over and over. Say what’s on your brain. Address the issues, argue the point, your point. And although the republican choir will be hard to sway … the true power, we in the middle can tell a lie from the truth. Be careful.
See ya next debate : gads I love this!!!
What the heck am I going to talk about when it’s over, I wonder.
