while my guitar gently .... 'sproings'

The strangest thing happened the other day. My baritone uke committed instrumenticide. I was reading email in the oven that is my room on a 109 degree day, and I heard this high pitch moaning, creaking, groaning. I looked over my shoulder and couldn't see where it was coming from ... then 'ba-twang' ... the bridge popped lose from the body, in the most dissonant chord I've ever heard. It isn't a very high tension instrument. But it does have nylon strings. I imagine there was enough heat in the room to affect the tension. I laughed mostly. I bought it for $20 bucks, so I wasn't out much. In fact I was thinking about replacing many of the cheap parts anyway. Oh well .... perhaps I'll buy one of better quality next time.
