When I wake each day I take inventory
Of my ‘to do’ and my ‘have done’
And all my assorted options
In wardrobe, breakfast and snacks.
I check on my children, breathing
Smiling, snuggled on their pillow
Pull the covers up to their chins
Smile peacefully, rub their backs.
Run through all my graces, rewards
All the big and little things, reflect
Of all the people for I am grateful
And recently I’ve thought of you
You just may be the one after all
After all the years and dreams
The missing puzzle piece where
In dreams my wishes come true
I am blessed with many prizes
Many lessons learned and gained
I have you now to complete the bliss
My children, my home, my life
Though many hurdles lay ahead
And I’ve yet to tell you completely
My fondness grows stronger daily
I know someday you’ll be my …
. . . complete enough for you now, honey? ;)
ReplyDeleteIn a word, you are . . . AMAZING!
