School bus idiot
I’m driving home along Hwy 99 at the speed limit of 55 MPH. An oncoming school bus starts to flash yellow lights so I slow down. Then the red lights flash and I stop. Couple preteen girls get off and cross in front of me. And as they are still in the middle of my lane the school bus shuts off it’s flashing read warning lights and starts to move.
Wait! I yelled at the top of my lungs inside my closed up car. “You have to wait until they cross all the way you idiot!” This is a highway, people drive 55 mph … it’s raining, and you turn OFF the warning lights before you students get across the road?
Where is Salem-Keizer School District hiring their bus drivers? I wonder if they were even looking. I wonder if they were even sober! Yikes!
They hire the first ones that has a bus license. When people are hard to find - and this would include school bus drivers - you get what you can take.
