From a lifetime of discourage, disappointment
You’ve brought a flash of light to a dark future
I know now how living has meaning and hope
You may never understand my point of view
But your light and your hope will guide me
I know I have no worries you will let haunt me
From a broken part of my heart you nurture
What I had begun to bury, was rescued by you
An understanding ear, and squinty little smile
You laugh at my jokes, my goofiness
You love my children as if your own
I am open to your arms, to your love, your life

I would have had an empty life without you

I find it hard to contain the joy knowing you’ll be my wife.
