Rabba Dabba D'oh What?

My children talk in cartooneese.

Every time one of them tries to tell me about a real-life situation, he or she always combines it with a strangely accurate reference to an episode of the Simpsons or Danny Phantom or Spongebob Squarepants.

My son will come up to me to tell me about his day,
"Oh we hung out in the playground, much like Bart did with Milhouse in the Simpson episode where the bullies created a diversion with Marge by doing a little jig, and Bart was getting his butt kicked by the other bullies … yea, like that”

Me: “what huh? Were you the bully or the bullied?”

My daughter plans her days around the Cartoon Network Schedule … “dad, on the next day I wake up to go to school there will be a new Danny Phantom on that day, do I have to go to school?”

Me: “Yes Adz, if you don’t go to school Danny Phantom won’t come on, and all the other kids will blame you.”

Without cartoons they would have only me as their moral compass:
I know, scary.
