He who sings. . .

“He who sings frightens away his ills.”
[Sp., Quien canta, sus males espanta.] Author: Source: Don Quixote (I, 22)

I and my lovely Mrs. To be attended the “The 2006 OSAA / U.S. Bank / Les Schwab Tires 4A Choir State Championships were held in the Bauman Auditorium on the campus of George Fox University” yesterday. It was very nice, and no hun, you didn’t hold me captive. I enjoyed every minute. Well, not the young lady next to me that had hand-clapping thunder volume that Thor himself would envy. My left ear is still ringing today. And then there was the ‘cougher’ and loud talker behind us. But I can tune that out sort of.
I was very impressed with the talent of these kids, outstanding. My high school, a small cow-town high school did not value music – if it wasn’t a sport, it wasn’t important. And I’m sure it wasn’t their fault. They can only do what they can with what the community is willing to pay.
Proud to say that my children’s Alma Mater to-be took 3rd!!! Out of all the 4A state high school choirs, that’s very impressive. The whole competition feel reminded me of my Drum Corps days. Ahhh ... memories.
I would have taken more pictures. But for some reason I didn’t. The only picture I took was this one of the bushes outside the auditorium. I want this gardener to do our yard.
