Bruuuuuuuce!

This last week we attended a solo performance of Bruce Hornsby at the Aladdin Theater in Portland. We got there early thinking we wouldn’t find a parking spot close enough. We did get a very close parking spot, and was within the first 20 people in line. We waiting about an hour and they let us in where we then sat front row center. We can actually see Bruce spit. It was that close.

It was an amazing show. He is a very very good piano player that created his sets around requests from the audience. And although he reluctantly played the hits here and there “Mandolin Rain”, "The Way It Is”.et al, most of it was jazzing adlibbed renditions of lesser known works. Kitten even got to shake his hand during one of his many encores.

The best deal of the night was with our $35 ticket he gave out a $50 box set. So including the gas for the Focus, it was a wash.

Next week Regina Spektor at the Crystal Ballroom.
