I saved the computer!!!
I have almost all the software (that I want back on) fixed on the computer. What a pain in the butt that is. All my data, photos, music were safe as they were triple backed-up. It was just the operating system that went da-funk.
I'll be up and running again soon. More droll ... more pictures.
