I am very excited to be here. My name is Gary Jungling. I live in Keizer Oregon with my new wife of 9 months, her 13-year-old son, my 13-year-old son and my 5-year-old daughter. I work for a glove and safety equipment distributor as a salesman and a web manager of one our company’s e-commerce sites. I have earned an associate of arts degree at our local community college back in 1992. After some ups and downs in my life I have come to the point where I can finish my bachelor degree.
I grew up in a small community here in Oregon, graduated from high school and joined the army. While in the army I traveled the world a little, including an extended tour of duty in South Korea. After the service I started college and graduated with my AA degree. I started a family, had a son, and worked in retail for 8 years. Soon after I started another family, being the first one did not work out so well, I met another dear lady, married and had my daughter. Sadly, my wife passed away a couple years after my daughter was born. A few years later I reconnected with an old friend, dated and married inside a year. Now we are a great team trying to blend two new families into one.
My interests are in photography, computers of course, and music. I play guitar, badly, but I am a ukulele nut. I own and three and play two. I can never be seen too far away from my gadgets either. My cell phone, camera and iPod are always somewhere near. I love live theater, movies and for some reason I’m strangely attracted to magazine articles.
I picked my program of study “Information Technology/Visual Communications” soon after taking a career assessment online, and after about a month working in sales. It was time for a shift in vocations. I have been very excited about the website my employer opened at my work, which also helped in the decision to take a technical twist on my education. I hope this course of study will fuel this interest and give me tools to succeed in this field.
So there ya have it ... it has begun.
