Merry Stressmas

It has begun. The Winter Solstice has signaled in that time of year again. I now have to prep for cross-town voyages to various family gatherings. I do that with glee, yes glee because I have a little bottle from the pharmacy that reads: "Rx: For Glee take one two times of day or when holiday panic is inevitable."

I guess my most irritating thing about the holidays is the inevitable teenage-I-want-to-have-angst-but-I-there's-nothing-so-horrible-with-my-life-for-real-angst attitude. Really, I do believe from 7th grade on all school aged boys should be sent to a government run boarding school. Maybe they can have some kind of uniform, and maybe they can march in formation to where they need to go, OH! And perhaps someone else can yell in their face and tell them what they can and can't do. How nice would THAT be? I'd pay extra taxes for that.

Side Note: Last night we (wife and daughter) went to the holiday dance at the "historic mission mill" last night. My wife and her big band performed. My daughter and I just danced for two non-stop hours. And when I mean "dance", I mean I spun Addie around in circles for two hours. I can't dance, really. My daughter came up to me this morning and said "I'm sore". YOU'RE sore?!?!? You didn't have a 6 year old hanging off you all night! Oh, but she had such a great time, and because she did, I did. She wore her new Christmas dress from Grandma Bunny, the new Hello Kitty Mary-janes I bought her (although she kicked them off after the second dance). She was smiles from ear to ear. We ended the evening making little footprints with our hands on the fogged-up windows of the mill.
