First week of March and I’ve discovered two things about myself.
One: I find SQL boring. I understand it runs the entire business database world; it’s the miracle worker of business informatics etc. but … YAWN! Hello! Half way through my current course in SQL for Business and I understand the importance of being familiar with the language, but I hope I don’t have to deal with it too much of that in the real world. The complexity, for example of the NULL concept is mind numbing and tedious. What is worse is that this is one of my only two electives. I chose this class. But I’m glad I did. Now when someone mentions SQL Server my eyes won’t glaze over from lack of knowledge, but now my eyes will glaze over because of the knowledge.
Two: I find common sense lacking in many many areas of my life. I’ll leave it at that.
Other news: I just bought tickets to the next Jonathon Coulton show AND Asylum Street Spankers. Watch this space for reviews.
