The last two days have given me a little more faith in Democracy:
Obama Takes Oregon Democratic Primary
As if I didn’t know this would happen. What I admire most is Sen. Obama’s admiration and respect for Sen. Clinton’s fight. I suspect there have been some back room deals between the two campaigns. I feel there are big republican crushing plans (as if Bush didn’t make this an easier job already) in the works with the DNC and both campaigns to trounce McCain in November. I get giddy just thinking about it.
David Cook Crowned American Idol Champ
Finally! The person that deserved to win, DID. Not since Kelly (season 1) did America pick the correct person to win American Idol. I think they got it right; 1st , 2nd and 3rd places this year. They messed up on all the voting for the other positions in the top 12, but I’ll forgive the fans for that. As the story goes, he didn’t even go to try out but to support his little brother who was auditioning. Then in Zen-like fashion, he won the whole damn thing by being kind, gracious and uber-talented. There’s hope for mankind … at least in the realm of pop music reality television. Of course now I have to continue my gross fascination with Hell’s Kitchen, So You Think You Can Dance, Iron Chef, and the Next Food Network Star. Ugh! I think I need a 12-step program.
