Military History: Revealed

I've often been amazed at how people cheer about John McCain's military service. Yes, Thank you John. Yes, Sorry about the prison of war thing. But really, there are a thousand or more heroic stories that your stories pale in comparison to.

Now hear this! John McCain. (That’s navy talk). It is clear you have become a prisoner of your past. A parody of yourself in fact. People have been more than willing to respect your trials in Vietnam but not above nor in exclusion of those experienced and suffered by many other American POW’s. Yet there is a difference. And it is significant.Unlike you John, your fellow POW’s did not seek to exploit that experience or expect special recognition or reward for their sacrifice. They understood it was part of the risk of being captured in the service of their country. (read more)


Modesty and truth can not be defined by you, your history or your campaign. You're average. I don't want an average American in the white house. Really, country first? I doubt it.
UPDATE: I was always lead to believe that John lost 5 navy planes while a pilot. But over at FactCheck.org they have tried to clarify exactly what happened with those planes: Did McCain Crash Five Planes?
