Obama : Better Friend to Isreal

It's always been my belief that Israel never really wants to fight with anybody. They would love a peaceful coexistence with their neighbor. Who wouldn't, right? There is pretty healthy speculation that the W.Bush years did nothing to help Israel's situation, and plenty of evidence to Bush has done the opposite. McCain's rhetoric has been reported to be pretty much of the same methods and motivation, including the occupation of Iraq, and refusing the sitting down with government of Iran. (I mean, sheesh ... if you have an opportunity to sit down with a dangerous opponent of the world stage, do it!! How else are going to know how they tick, what they really want?).
From a good article from the Weekly Forward:

"Today, there are two candidates for president who support a strong Israeli military. But John McCain has consistently backed the Bush administration policies that created the current disastrous situation. In contrast, Barack Obama seeks not only to buttress Israel’s military strength but to reduce the threats to the Jewish state and the likelihood that Israeli soldiers will again go into battle". --- read more

McCain's erratic Cheney-wanna-be antics will start World War 3, and the next attempted holocaust. We need strength of statesmen, not of crazy ranting old politicians.

UPDATE: Read this over at Slate.com/War Stories, on how even Gen. Petraeus says you have to sit down with your enemies:
"Asked about a British officer's recent statement that at some point, we'll have to strike a deal with the Taliban in Afghanistan, Petraeus said, matter-of-factly, "You have to talk to enemies." He added that the British know this especially well, as they've "sat down with thugs throughout their history, including us, I suspect."" -- read more
