One is the loneliest number ...

... only it isn't.

From Roller of Big Cigars: 10 Reason's to be Antisocial
  1. Genius is antisocial: All the smart people were/are antisocial
  2. Less drama: humanity = drama
  3. You gain insight: the best perspective is from outside the group
  4. Relationships require effort: really, who wants to work that hard anyway
  5. Conversation-padding: get to the point already
  6. Low expectation: hardly ever disappointed
  7. You get balls: everyone is a chihuahua
  8. You don’t miss out on a whole lot: really, people are sweaty and noisy and needy
  9. Comforting self-deception: no dom like martyrdom
  10. It helps you deal with loneliness: there is a difference between loneliness and being alone.
of course this is all tongue-in-cheek, or is it?
I don't think the right term is antisocial anyway, I think unsocial or asocial would better fit this loner-like existence.
An antisocial person is “one opposed to the established society, one who shuns company and defies or breaks society’s rules.” An asocial person simply “doesn’t get on in society and avoids mixing with others.” An unsociable person is “not congenial and neither seeks nor tolerates the company of others.” An unsocial person is either “one who does not seek society or one who actively avoids or hates it.” In short unsocial overlaps nearly all these others. Nonsocial is often used with behavior to indicate “having no social quality or character,” and so “uninterested in society or in socializing.” All these words are Standard. -- Kenneth G. Wilson (1923–). The Columbia Guide to Standard American English. 1993
