Ready Set Moving on now …

I just sent in an application for a new job.  It pays just a little more than what I make now.   It seems it’s the only way to get a raise in state government these days with all the pay freezes.  My current pay was frozen solid the day I was hired.
My dream of setting up my own home business will be moved back further on the burner.  Also my other dream of being a media guru for a small to medium business is also simmering.  I think my age will be my worse enemy.  My age and the jobs I was doing during those years will pretty much keep me out of high-tech media jobs.  There’s always going to be a younger, fresher, go-gettier guy applying ahead of me.  My feelings are there really isn’t those kinds of opportunities right now, with this economy, in this small town, so you know.
oh well.  I got to pay the house payment and put food on the table.  I can’t be too picky on my job choices now can I?

  1. Hmm. That sure sucks. But don't give up. The kind of jobs you're looking for are all about who you know, and you're a darn good twitter networker!
