I had a carotid artery ultrasound to see if my blood flow was behaving. I have been having constant headaches with tingling in the left side of my face. The doctor is concerned with an elevated blood pressure, rising cholesterol, family history and now this asymmetrical sensation.
Fortunately the test results came back “normal” and now we can rule out blood flow. Of course the pain and tingling has remained the same. In fact it’s spread to my left hand finger tips. Monday I have another appointment to discuss the some concerns and solutions.
Meanwhile … I pop the Tylenol and try not to panic. Panicking seems to make it much worse.
Oh, and now I’m getting a cold. that’s life.
Sorry to hear about your troubles, Gary.
ReplyDeleteI've had constant "tingling" in my face for about 8 years now. The AF doctors in Misawa thought I was crazy. My first civilian doctor here thought that I might be crazy, but she humored me and checked a few things out.
My last doctor took me seriously. She ran a bunch of tests looking for a metabolic answer. She then referred me to a neurologist, who did a full neuro workup, including a CAT scan and MRI (because my mom's been living with an aneurysm, which can be genetic). They found nothing wrong with my brain, just some "age related deterioration."
I hope the doctors find an answer to your problem. They didn't find one for mine, but I figure it can't be anything too serious or I'd be dead by now.
This was meant to encourage you, but reading it over, I'm not so sure it will. You can help feel your best by eating right, getting enough sleep, and exercising when you can. (Yeah, I know that's tough to do.) Hang in there and be well.
Take care,
thanks, seems like my head cold is trying to trump my other 'conditions' this weekend. You are completely correct about eating, sleeping, and exercise. It's the only way to fight the avalanche of aging that I can reveal.
